GCSE jubilation at Dean Maguirc College

There were scenes of delight and jubilation when pupils received their 2018 G.C.S.E. results at Dean Maguirc College as the grades achieved by so many of the pupils were very impressive indeed. Reflecting on the results, the principal, Mr. Warnock spoke of the performance of the pupils of the

all-ability school which entailed 81% of the pupils achieving A* – C in 5 subjects or more in this year’s examinations. He said “I am very happy and pleased with the performance of our pupils which saw 61% of the all-ability year group achieving 7 or more G.C.S.E. A* – C grades with 70% of the boys achieving A* – C in 5 or more subjects. As a school catering for all abilities which entails the provision of a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum, it is great to see our pupils achieve their full potential in the academic and vocational subjects.” He added. “Our success today stems undoubtedly from the hard work of both pupils and staff, the school working in partnership with the parents and the dedicated teachers who act as mentors for our Year 12 pupils. I congratulate all who have been involved in enabling the pupils to achieve and even surpass their target grades.”
